Get a taste of the Good Life with a farm cottage break.
23 Feb 2009
Emma Smale from Farm and Cottage Holidays tell us a little more about staying at a UK farm cottage and how the little ones will delight in feeding the animals, playing in the outdoor barns and how you'll enjoy the ease of a UK break.

Does the thought of travelling on a plane with your baby bring you out in a cold sweat? The thought of squeezing everything you need in just the one suitcase? The expense of travelling abroad, dread of delayed flights, strange food and unfamiliar weather……….. Then why not consider staying closer to home and enjoying a break away in a self catering holiday cottage in the West Country.

Location
Many properties just a couple of hours drive from London so you can arrive at your destination in your own time and load your car with as much as like! You can stay near sandy beaches and family attractions, or on rural properties where children can see the workings of a farm and help with the animals’ feeding time. Ditch the stress of flight delays and busy airports as well as long time cooped up in a plane with a teething tot!

Facilities
A self catering cottage has all the home comforts we are used to such as washing machines and tumble dryers so you don’t need to worry about taking 3 changes of clothes for every day! With cots and highchairs provided and having added extras such as play equipment and soft toys the kids are constantly kept amused

Something for everyone
If you truly want to get away from it all you can stay in a quaint country cottage and spend the days exploring the rugged landscape or if you prefer a bit more hustle and bustle then stay in a property close to one of the numerous sandy beaches or towns close to family attractions and parks.

Family Celebrations
If there are a few families wanted to get away together then I can recommend Cory Farm in North Cornwall. There are 4 individual cottages on a working farm where the children can take part in the daily farming activities and the games barn and outdoor play facilities keep them occupied for hours on end. It is so nice to truly get away from everyday stresses and stay in such a beautiful surrounding in top quality accommodation

Cost effective
With no surcharges for airline taxes or hidden extras for under occupancy it means you have some extra money to spend on days out. With the value of the pound at an all time low get the most for your money and holiday in the UK you can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery and landscape without spending a penny!

Emma Smale works for Farm & Cottage Holidays. Properties sleep from 2-22 people and prices start from just £185 per week.
