Location
Enjoy a holiday to remember at Pagel, a secluded hamlet which consists of a 19th Century Winegrowers stone farmhouse and beautiful stone granary, which has completely been refurbished into four luxury gites. Pagel is situated in the area between the two famous river valleys of the Lot and the Dordogne, some 320 metres up, about a mile from Salvezou (a quiet small village), and about three miles from Catus (the nearest town) and twelve miles from Cahors.

Accommodation
Each gite has three bedrooms with spacious accommodation for all the family. One bedroom has a comfortable double Brass bed, the second double bedroom has twin beds and the third bedroom has a single bed or cot (as required). There is a large open plan living area and a well equipped kitchen with a microwave and dishwasher. Each gite also enjoys a private patio or terrace with outside table, chairs and a BBQ. There is a communal laundry room with washing machine, ironing board and iron.

Facilities for Babies and Children
You can travel light when visiting Pagel as they have almost everything you might need when travelling with a baby or toddler. In addition each gite has a toy box. Outside there is a sand pit, play house area, little tike climbing apparatus, a huge 8 metre long pirate ship and even an electric jeep driving area. The 14 foot trampoline is a huge hit with children who are often seen running out in their pyjamas first thing in the morning to bounce.
The new pool is heated to 28 degrees permanently as is the toddler pool. There is also a shelter at the pool for playpens and easy seating to allow parents with young babies and older siblings to be at the pool whilst safely sheltering their little ones.

For Parents
Parents can enjoy a massage, manicure, pedicure or a range of other treatments in the privacy of their own gites. Treatments take place on a Monday and must be booked in advance. Pagel also offer a babysitting service as there are fantastic restaurants within ten minutes drive however there is also a chef service so you can have a meal cooked in your gite for a special evening in...

We went to this resort on the first week of the new season. The rooms were damp and cold and it seemed as if very little effort had been made getting the accommodation ready. It clearly hadn't been heated through. We also had a problem thoughout the week with Ants in the bathroom, which was in need of updating. . The pool was too cold to swim in, although on the website it says its maintained at a warm temperature. All the play equipment needed a good wash. They promise a peaceful vacation but there was lots of electric saw noise as they were rushing against the clock to prepare a wooden cabin for guests arriving in a just a day or twos time. This wasn't great with young children who need a daytime nap. On the plus side, they had a really nice barbecue evening and providing the weather is good you can sit outside and drink wine with the other parents in full view of your gite. It's also a very beautiful location with lots of interesting day trips. They don't have television which we may not bother some people, but is handy to have if the weathers not so good. I can understood why lots of people enjoy this place, but for me there were too many things which just weren't right for me to recommend it. I think it has bags of potential if the right amount of effort is invested by the owners.
