With so many people now traveling with young babies, it’s amazing how some airlines have gotten to the point of becoming less and less accommodating to these little passengers.
So what airlines can you count on to provide your little one with the same type of service you would expect for any passenger?
Here’s a quick rundown of ten of the most baby-friendly airlines for your little one’s travel:
- Air France – Air France not only has specially dedicated family assistants, but they also offer several perks for children such as games, toys and inflight entertainment. For babies, there are bottle and food warming facilities.
- British Airways – Children on board this airline are also offered inflight entertainment, as well as being given their meals first, per the airline’s feed kids first policy. Kids’ meals, skycots and car seats are available for parents to use, although you are also allowed to use your own car seat as long as it is not rear facing. Priority boarding with your little one also means no battling through a crowd of people to get yourselves situated.
- BMI (British Midland International) – In addition to priority boarding, BMI offers a bassinet for babies weighing less than ten pounds and a teddy bear for those children under three. They also have goody packs and the ever important nappy supplies should you find yourself in need and caught unprepared.
- Quantas Airlines – Bassinets are available from this airline for infants under twenty-five pounds, but they must be pre-booked. If you are opting to take your own car seat on board, it must first be approved by the airline and you will need to purchase an additional seat for your little one. Baby food and children’s meals are also available for pre-ordering and children are also given a goody bag while on board.
- Airtours – Airtours is another airline that offers pre-bookable bassinets for baby. They also offer seat belts for infants if you are choosing to have your child ride in your lap rather than in their own seat.
- Emirates Airlines – For babies up to eleven pounds, Emirates Airlines will provide you with a pre-booked bassinet. They also have baby food available, along with in-flight entertainment and interactive games for older children. You can bring your own car seat on board for children ages six to thirty-six months and there is free stroller service at Dubai Airport.
- KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) – Along with infant and child meals and nappy supplies, KLM offers activity packs for children and even allows small strollers to be brought on board.
- Air Canada – While there are no infant or child seatbelts for use on this airline, your own car seat may be brought on board if you have purchased an additional seat. All children between 20 and 40 pounds must be secured in a forward facing restraint device. In addition to infant’s and children’s meals being available, they will also store any infant milk or medications in their cooler if needed.
- Virgin Atlantic – Virgin Atlantic has skycots available for children under one year of age, as well as an Infant Care chair if an additional seat is purchased. Kids’ meals, baby food and nappy supplies are all available and, for older children, goody bags and game consoles are also provided.
- Gulf Air – Kids’ meals and nappy supplies are also available on this airline, as well as bassinets for babies up to one year. Gulf Air also provides a dedicated Sky Nanny service and has games and toys to help keep children occupied.
