Newborn babies are particularly vulnerable and it is unlikely you'll want to go anywhere far from home with them.

" How much rest will you get with a newborn? "
Newborn babies are typically demanding (even the most angelic babies are hard work in the first few weeks). They require continuous feeding and nappy change, and their immune and respiratory systems are still very susceptible to bugs and viruses that strangers may carry. It's best to stay put for the first few weeks after birth and only travel in case of emergency.

Besides, mums as well as babies need the rest!

Being ruthlessly organised is the key and using items for multiple uses e.g use muslins as bibs instead of taking both .
